The DIFFA Dining by Design 2016 "Cocktails by Design" was a pinnacle to this seasons celebrations. The yearly tabletop fundraiser for this noble cause features 50 vignettes fiercely flaunting the talents of designers + artists in collaboration with brands, publications and manufacturers . . . as seen with Interior Designer- Darrin Varden teaming with The New York Times & Lladro. Hipster Artist, Jon Burgerman draws in Knoll & Rockwell Group. And, Chicago based Interior Designer, Julia Buckingham works simply with
Benjamin Moore & Consentino.
There were visuals delights of all sorts -including a very attractive crowd. The elegant formal dining rooms were as maahvelous as the rooms which suggested a casual dinner on the lanai. (finally -an opportunity to use that word lanai - don't you love it lanai, lanai - oh I digress).
Just my luck - my camera battery exhausted mid way through the Cocktails by Design evening. I did not have an opportunity to photograph the chic misting curtain at Roche Bobois or the striking cocktail lounge by NAULA. I also missed oppts to snap design team Jayne and Joan Michaels, Ralph Lauren's handsome Guillermo Martinez, design talent Ron Marvin, PR Grande Dame Katharina Plath and FENDI CASA VP, Ally Coulter.
